Dude, you're not alone. I plough through my ADHD medication reading this stuff up and down, over and over again. It drives me to the brink of insanity each time. But eventually I get through it with enough help and enough questions.

Because a few users ask if audio is possible with this codec, especially for the GA-Z170X-Gaming 7 mainboard, here some solutions:

Below, a fully patched kext that gives you the default outputs. For headphones and front microphone you can use the attached switcher. Other layouts are also possible.
Why a fully patched kext? because i think it is the easiest way to make audio working. The Gigabyte Gaming 7 users, without a patched DSDT need only the HDAS to HDEF clover-patch.

I created a simple installer package for toleda's Clover patch for unsupported HD device IDs.

This package allows you to either install or remove the patch from any destination volume. It will mount the EFI partition and will verify that the config.plist is valid before proceeding. Any errors will be logged in install.log.

Please do not upload this to any other site.

Hello everyone,
I'm writing from one of the smallest portable (handheld) hackintoshes :)
If I could only get Audio to work that would be great.
Tried Latest Voodoo and AppleALC with no success.
The codec should be Alc5645, device id 8086:9d71 and as far as I know someone got audio working on High Sierra.
Attached IOreg and Clover folder.
Can someone please help me out?

I've tried everything(AppleALC+lilu.kext,realtekALC.kext, multibeast, all possible guides, tried all codes in clover) but still can't manage to get audio to work. Should I try to clean install High Sierra again, but with AppleALC+lilu.kext?

Motherboard:Gigabyte B250M-D2V-CF

Thank you in advance.

No Audio on ACL887 but do have device in sound

I'm using the Gigabyte Z370M DS3H on my build with High Sierra 10.13.4. I've spent the week reading forums and working through solutions. I do see the device Built-ni-Output in my System Report and the sound volume for Line Out is turned up a little over 3/4. With the speakers connected no sound. I verified the speakers by connecting to my PC.
I've rebuilt several installations and have chosen several Audio Inject ports. Most times I see the device in Sound.
This is a new build so I'm...

Hi all,

I have been mucking around with my first Hackintosh build and everything works fine except I can't get sound from the system. I am on Mojave and tried both the unibeast/multibeast method and I just completed the vanilla clover install. For kext I am AppleALC.kext. I tried entering all the layout ids and still no sound.

I have tried a second Hackintosh on a used Lenovo and that works perfectly. I am sure this is some settings that I need to adjust for the gigabyte. Any help is...

GA-Z77X-UD5H audio green-port problem solved by welding 2 resistors

I weld 2 resistors.
Green-port-problem and front-panel-port-problem solved! And it doesn't affect orange & black ports.
I'll post the route map later.

Hi, I installed macOS Sierra 10.12.5 and used MultiBeast to install ALC888 driver + 3 audio port option, with system option to iMac14,2 and audio worked fine there with this setting. I changed from iMac14,2 to MacPro5,1 to get better performance, but the audio device is not identified anymore.

How could I get audio working while keeping the system option as MacPro5,1?

I thought maybe I should install Mojave already and see if audio works there, but not sure about that. Any suggestions are...

Hi Guys,

I have a quick question. I have installed Mac OS X on the Latte Panda Alpha. I have everything working, except HDMI Audio. I have Wifi, BT, GPU etc. I have looked over Novaspirits Video and files and he has got audio to work using VoodooHDA.kext, this shows the ports and audio works on the 3.5MM Jack but nothing on HDMI. I have tried AppleALC.kext however after trying every inject I hadn't got a single audio device to show up.

I would much rather use AppleALC.kext with...

After installing Multibeast 11 drivers on a fresh install of Mojave, everything(clover, usb, ethernet, etc) works except audio. The audio devices are showing but audio is not coming through the port. It used to work fine on earlier versions of MacOS. I used to use the Internal Speakers option, but it doesn't seem to work now. View attachment 369004

Hello Hackers,

Thanks to the excellent guide (https://www.tonymacx86.com/resources/el-capitan-post-install-tools.294/) I was successful in my first hackintosh (well after a few failed attempts...).

One issue is that the audio crackles in and out, regardless of output (speakers or headphones) or what it's doing (could be middle of movie, could be game, could be anything). It 'crackles' in and out, maybe 5-10 times a minute, or just cuts out. Rebooting fixes it temporarily....

Hi all,

I am now under Mojave 10.14.
I can listen my music using internal speakers output, connected to my NAD amplifier.
However if I select NAD DAC as an output, as soon as I launch a playlist my output switch automaticaly to internal speakers and have no sound, as output selected from Audirvana is DAC one.

Anyone have an idea of what's going wrong?

Thanks in advance for your support!

Cheers

I recently built my sister a new hackintosh for audio production, but there is no audio, I built it, checked audio devices and selected the green port on back and no audio worked so I installed voodoo and got the weird noise so I uninstalled it and tried the lilu.kext and other file, (I don't remember the name) but no audio devices showed up except the two apple tvs we have. Weird. So I know I have no idea what to do. I didn't know I had to use internal speakers. And now I made made...

Updated Nvidia Driver and now my audio isn't working...

Oh man, I had my first real scare today with my 2-year-old Hackintosh not booting up. Luckily, I had my friend over who got me into Hackintoshes in the first place and he helped me diagnose that it was the Nvidia web driver. I updated the Nvidia web driver and lo and behold, it boots up. Faster than it has since I first got it working. (Lately it had been hanging and bootups would take 5 mins+)

ANYWAYS, my audio is not working. Like at all. No output devices showing at all. I have no idea...
