macOS High Sierra - Installation success but no Audio. help!!!!

Hi guys,

I've successfully managed to fresh install macOS High Sierra on my hackintosh with msi Z97 Gaming 3 mobo. However, as always I've run into the problem of no audio. I've tried some tutorials on this forum with VoodoHD and Realtek audio guides no luck. If I remember clearly back in Sierra, using Multibeast I think I installed ALC 1150, 898 kexts for audio on this board. Not 100% sure.

Could you please help me get back Audio on this mobo. It sucks because back then, we could use...

Apogee Maestro / Duet2 not working on Sierra Hackintosh

Hey. I just made my first Hackintosh. Basically I started with El Capitan because I used a Apogee Duet 1 for years and I've seen that the support expired with the start of Sierra. A few days later my Duet 1 broke and I decided to buy the Duet 2. I was surprised how fast it worked with my Hackintosh El Capitan. But I thought it would probably be better to make an update to Sierra now before I spend to much time configuring my El Capitan.

So.. the Sierra installation went pretty well. But now...

Focusrite Scarlett 2i4 sound distortion

Hi,

I bought a Focusrite Scarlett 2i4 a few days ago for recording but also for music listening.
It is working fine on my hackintosh but if I stress the CPU too much (100 %) the sound gets distorted and after a few seconds it stops completely.
I can reproduce the problem by running Prime95 with In-Place Large FFTs.
Is there a way to fix that issue? Maybe with a PCI USB 2.0 card?

I install the driver in the Clover folder (since I ship Clover from a flash drive)
The sound came out - but not clear - distorted.
Installed the VoodooHD Panel - removed the use of SSE2 (did not help)
Tell me what to do to remove the distorted sound?

Good morning,

I've been noticing for quite sometime that from time to time the sound on the youtube videos gets distorted, then the sound simply disappears while the video increase its speed at the same time; and then finally page crashes.

I was chasing this event through the logs and found multiple entries of the one below:

Kernel:
Sandbox: com.apple.WebKit(48913) deny network-outbound /private/var/run/com.apogee.duetUSBDaemon/Socket

Does anyone knows what that means and how to fix it?...

Intermittent problem with no audio devices after dual booting from windows 10 back into High Sierra using cloverALC. Windows is using the default microsoft driver and not the realtek drivers.

It may take five or six reboots or an extended shutdown for the audio to be detected back in Mac OS 10.3.6

Hello,

As the GA-Z77X-UD3H is often dubbed to be (one of) the best Hackintoshable mainboards, I'm surprised to find the amount of trouble I am having in getting the sound to work (VIA VT2021).
There are various guides around but most seem to deal with older versions of OSX, as this is a 2012 board, obviously.

But does anyone have a solution on getting it to work with 10.13 High Sierra?

I'm pretty new at this as this is my first build, after geting seriously hacked off with Win10. I have...

Stop the popping in (High) Sierra

Hi all, since upgrading to Sierra I've had the dreaded audio pop problem. Every 30 seconds or so the audio would make a loud pop before playing anything.

The fix used to be 'Antipop' but its developer has stopped maintaining it. This small fix here does the same thing but is verified working in Sierra.

Update: Confirmed working in High Sierra. You may need to re-load the service, see below in Misc on how to do this.

1. Open Terminal (in Utilities) and type:

Because a few users ask if audio is possible with this codec, especially for the GA-Z170X-Gaming 7 mainboard, here some solutions:

Below, a fully patched kext that gives you the default outputs. For headphones and front microphone you can use the attached switcher. Other layouts are also possible.
Why a fully patched kext? because i think it is the easiest way to make audio working. The Gigabyte Gaming 7 users, without a patched DSDT need only the HDAS to HDEF clover-patch.

If you want to...

Help finding Y-adapter for Apple earpods with line-in/out on motherboard

Hi. I tried searching the forum and google and amazon but still haven't found a confirmed solution.

I'd like to use the 3.5mm iPhone earpods with my motherboard and am looking for a Y adapter. I want the headphones connected to the green line-out and the mic connected to the pink line-in. The challenge is finding an adapter that's compatible with the proprietary CTIA configuration of apple headphones.

I'm thinking to try these but the reviews are mixed. One review says it works, the...

Hi guys
I have been searching this sound issue for 2 weeks. I tried many different ways. RealtekALC.kext that I used didn't work, so I used AppleALC.kext. It works perfectly.
mine is ALC867=ALC3863 (hp mini desktop). and others who have ALC891 (Asus Z97-P). I think it will work too.

installation
1. if you have voodoohda or realtekalc, you need to remove or uninstall it. restart
2. Retore original AppleHDA.kext. this kext is important. bring it back.
2.1 install it using kext utility
2.2...

Audio Muting/Unmuting itself repeatedly

Hey all,

After initial install no audio devices were showing up in my list so I installed a couple of the drivers, which I'm assuming I got wrong as its muting/unmuting itself every few seconds so I get a lot of 'popping' sounds while listening.
When it happens this is a screen shot of what the audio is 'popping' to (it lowers the audio volume and ticking mute, then half a second/1second later it goes back to what it was):

Any way to auto-switch source to HDMI when unplugging headphones on VoodooHDA?

Basically the title says most of my question. I was reluctant to use VoodooHDA after the bad experiences others had, but it was really my only option since not a single audio installation method worked after updating from 10.13.5 to 10.13.6. AppleALC technically worked, but front panel audio had heavy crackling and distortion no matter the bitrate and HDMI audio (DVI2HDMI) did not work. This meant to use headphones, I had to extend the cable form the rear panel audio, which had clear audio....

Hi,

  • CPU: Intel i7 6700
  • Codec: ALC1150
  • Install: Mojave installer from USB to a freshly formatted SSD
My system now boots after a disc wipe, install and MultiBeast (FakeSMC, Clover & iMac 14.2 ONLY). However I have no audio device showing in System Preferences.
